From the Editor: The best from myWanderlust this week

Breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day you know. And this week myWanderlusters are obsessed with it

6 mins

Do you remember that movie from the 80's called The Breakfast Club? Where Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy discussed the minutae of their lives during an early morning detention session in their high school's library (Come on! I know I'm not the only one old enough to remember it. Or to have had an inexplicable crush on Molly Ringwald)?

Well, the forum felt a bit like that this week after JayR came across a bunch of Breakfast Consultants at Waterloo Station. A long discussion on the merits of both consultants and breakfast ensued, making it one of the most popular forum posts of the week. For the record, I'm with DrG. Breakfast ain't breakfast if there ain't no bacon.

Again, the forum is littered with requests for inside info as assorted myWanderlusters plan their next trips. Pezaze is looking for someone to join them in Rio for Carnival. Misabel is after advice on desert trekking with diabetes. And satkinson wants the scoop on South Korea (Kimchi in small doses!). Even our illustrious magazine editor, Dan Linstead, has slunk over to get some tips on what do do in Dubrovnik. You know what to do – dazzle them with your wisdom here.

Over in experiences, satkinson spends a night in a bar in Ghent with German beer students and discovers that the owner likes women. And so do some of his female customers. Satkinson leaves with a deeper understanding of Belgians and their beers. And has the t-shirt to prove it. Alan Taylor takes us back to Gambia – this time the small towns of Juffureh and Serrekunda. Who knew this small country had so much to offer?

Just back from is buzzing as usual, as myWanderlusters return from all corners of the globe and share their newly-gained pearls of wisdom with the larger world. Wanderlust editor-in-chief Lyn Hughes, has just jetted back from Burma and recommends the leg rowers of Inle Lake and taking lots of US cash. Didn't say whether it was the leg rowers who gave the best rate of exchange, but expect to get around 800 kyat to the dollar.

The HappyWanderer has just spent three days in Sweden and says it is nice. I suspect he was a little distracted. He was supposed to go with his girlfriend but broke up a few days before and decided to go anyway. I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him a speedy recovery from his shattered heart.

Wales may have taken a battering from Hurricane Katia, but that didn't stop both ttbko and ElliFry dropping by for a visit. Ttbko loved the red Kite feeding station at Rhayader near Llandrindod Wells. Whereas, ElliFry seemed to spend most of her time in south Wales working through some lifelong issues with Newport. Fascinating, nonetheless.

Photography, and there has been a deluge of fantastic water-themed images. We put the call out for anything wet and have been swamped by your response. The galleries are awash with aquatic masterpieces, far too many for me to wade through. OK, I'm going to stop now. You get my drift (Sorry, can't help it!). Lots of great photos for you to check out here.
