The world according to ElliFry

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
Mountains, with desert.

What was your first great travel experience?
Driving around Spain in the snow with my parents & seeing Lynx tracks in the mountains.

What has been your favourite journey?
The bus between Pisac & Sachsayhuaman in Peru, early in the morning. (On my way to work.)

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
The Gower (Wales), Pisac (Peru), Maljasset (French alps), Terelj (Mongolia), Paris.

Recommend a special place to stay
Taverna di Castellucio. A tiny restaurant with rooms in Castellucio, in the Monti Sibilini, Italy. Great, local food, great views and walking, and cozy rooms, at a really good price. In summer and weekends call them in advance, closed in winter.

Which three items do you always pack?
Pen & notebook, walking books, lip slave.

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Machu Picchu, because I was allowed in for free as an archaeologist working for the INC.

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
D.R. Congo.

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
French fries.

Window or aisle?
Window every time.
