From the Editor: The best from myWanderlust this week

myWanderlust. It's an academic resource, don't you know!

7 mins

You're a post graduate student researching tourism development in Montenegro. Your dissertation is due in and you need to get the opinion of travellers who have been there recently. Where do you turn when your academic career is hanging on by a thread?

myWanderlust, of course.

At least that's what alexandraS88 did.

LS13 jumped in with help immediately. Hmoat01 is helping out when she gets back from Montenegro next week. If you've been and want to help out, pop over to the Forum now.

While you're there you might want to give Gamble a hand. He's getting contradictory advice about Vietnamese visas and is looking to myWanderlusters to set him straight. Dabbler wants some personal recommendations on Peak District B&Bs too.

Oh, and don't leave the Forum with out joining Sergeant Pluck's homage to Gunther Holtorf who has been on a road trip around the world for 23 years, setting out four years before Wanderlust was conceived.

Speaking of road trips, pop over to Experiences and check out Rhoda1's guide to the roadworks of Assam. If tailbacks of the developing world don't excite, she writes about its rhinos and tea plantations too. David Ross returns to Belfast and find that its frowns have been turned into smiles and there's a pound or two to be made out of The Troubles. Christian Lloyd shares an insider's guide to Beijing after living there for eight months.

Sammy Lou is Just Back From Cuzco and the Inca Trail, raving about her guide Max and the need for good sunscreen. She also talks about trekking up the Sexy Woman for a better view of Cuzco but that could be just the sun stroke speaking. Denise D has returned from Venice and recommends getting lost in the tiny streets and seeing what the day will bring. And sravis has tips on finding splendid isolation in Iceland, just outside of Reykjavik.

It's all London over at the photo galleries this week, with nary an Olympic lane in sight. Our mini-photo competition, in tribute to the Olympic city, has seen a host of London-centric photos posted. Not all of them featuring Big Ben. If you're a fan of great photography, you'll pop over as quick as a flash. Or Usain Bolt. Whichever's quickest.

Make sure you check out DavidHigham's pics from the Solovetsky Islands, Vinny's shot of the Mid-West, a foggy Burma with Vicky Jade and Sergeant Pluck's selection of Seville on the Mushroom too.
