Foodie travellers won't want to miss this. NYC Restaurant Week, sponsored by Mastercard, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this summer, with the best eateries across all five boroughs participating in the event . If you're not sure what to expect, we've answered some key questions below. Get your knife, fork or chopsticks at the ready as we tuck into New York City's finest culinary cultures. 

What is NYC Restaurant Week?

First created in 1992, NYC Restaurant Week is a bi-annual event which takes places in the Big Apple. New York City is home to the most authentic cuisines from around the world, and during NYC Restaurant Week, eateries across the city sign up to offer customers the most fantastic dining deals with set price menus.

When is NYC Restaurant Week 2022?

Despite the name, NYC Restaurant Week takes places over 30 days, beginning from 18 July through to 21 August. Be aware, some restaurants are only taking part for one or multiple weeks, instead of the full five weeks.

Which restaurants are participating?

More than 600 restaurants across all five boroughs will take part in NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2022. This year, 14 restaurants from the original 1992 event are included in 2022's special summer programme. These are: Barbetta, Carmine’s (Upper West Side), Dock’s Oyster Bar, Gage & Tollner, Gallagher’s Steak House, The Palm, Sardi’s, Shun Lee West, Sylvia’s, Tavern on the Green, Tribeca Grill, The Russian Tea Room, Union Square Café, and Victor’s Café.

What deals can I get?

For the NYC Restaurant Week 2022, diners can find an array of two-course lunches or three-course dinners for $30, $45 or $60, depending on where you want to eat. Choose from friendly neighbourhood cafes to fine dining establishments, just make sure you come on an empty stomach.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the event, more than 100 restaurants will be offering a $30 bottle of wine. Do note, taxes and gratuity are not included in the price.
