With an unbeatable mix of magnificent mountain scenery and two of the best road journeys in Europe, this 4-day private journey travels into the heart of Romania. Reopened as a modern highway in 2011, the Transalpina is the highest road in Romania, crossing the Carpathian Mountains in a series of sweeping curves and offering heart-stopping views at every turn. Linking the provinces of Oltenia and Transylvani, the road was originally inaugurated in 1935 by King Charles II and provides a transportation link between the towns of Novaci and Sibiu.
