My Greek travel secret has to be ‘Seitan Limania’. Located on the north-western edge of the Greek island of Crete, this is one of the islands most visually impressive beaches. The scene is what I’d describe as a tectonic ‘crack’ in an otherwise unbroken coastline lined by canyons & clifftops. Seitan Limania is a feast for the eyes. Making your way round the final turn, after a steep and moderately challenging walk down from the top, and you’re greeted to the sight of an azure skyline, toasted golden sand, and a chalky, pastel blue coloured ocean with a vibrancy like no other. Once used as a small harbour, today the cove provides adventurous travellers with one of nature’s most stunning and intimate natural wave pools. The cliff jumping, of course, comes as optional. Now your turn. What’s your top travel secret?

2. Secret Milos

The island of Milos has some secret spots, tucked-away beaches, and a natural phenomenon that you can only visit by boat. You can snorkel in a shallow part of the sea where the sand is heated by a volcano. You'll feel the fresh water and the heat when walking on the sand. It's otherworldly.

Escape Rhodes' busy beaches and spend a day exploring the unspoiled fishing village of Stegna. This tiny village has a handful of great seafood restaurants lining the beachfront where you can tuck into ocean delicacies including octopus, king prawns and mussels.

Greece is an amazing place to go hiking. Vyros Gorge is one of the most spectacular routes with incredible views of the Peloponnese region surrounded by rocky terrain, stunning vegetation and plants. It also runs directly alongside the Voidomatis River. Combine with a climb up Mt Taygetos and you've got a perfect hiking holiday.

Greek wine is often overshadowed by Europe's better-known winemaking countries, but wines from the Cyclades islands are well worth discovering. Head to Moraitis Winery on the island of Paros, a small, family-run winery founded in 1910, to learn more about local wine production.

6. Secret Kefalonia

Kefalonia is known to host multiple sea turtle nesting grounds, where like I, you can participate in sea turtle conservation programs. This will get you close to sea turtles and you can help monitor and protect multiple nesting grounds around the island's beaches. Sustainability is not an afterthought here and you can cycle around the island, camp under the stars and benefit the local economy.

7. Secret Chios

The island of Chios is my secret gem. It's lesser-known, truly wild in places and swaps white sugar cube houses for incredible fortress-like towns and unique black-and-white patterned houses. They also produce mastic, a plant resin you can chew like gum that grows in traditional orchards you can wander in.

An island that's very close to Athens that's often overlooked is Andros. This is a beautiful island with sandy beaches, waterfalls, healing springs and green plains. There are some incredible hiking trails here through the rocky wild mountains with bubbling streams and ancient stone mills along the way.

We fell in love with the city of Volos and the surrounding area straight away. How could we not when dolphins were jumping right in front of us from our sun beds on day one? The city itself is authentic and laidback with great restaurants and bars. Make sure you go up Mount Pelion for fantastic views, traditional villages and easy treks.
