Savanna. Part forest, part desert; tropical or sub tropical ... it just offers so much

What was your first great travel experience?
Late starter as it were. I was 27 and went out with girl and we headed off to Ecuador for three weeks with her, much to everyone's amazement. This included a week in the Amazon ... certainly different from the previous holidays around the UK

What has been your favourite journey?
Hard to pin down. A month backpacking the Garden Route in 2006 has loads of fantastic memories

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Top continent has to be Africa, but to name five: Antarctica, Borneo, Botswana, Madagascar, Uganda

Which three items do you always pack?
Camera, notebook, an open mind
