The world according to scheungy

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
desert - sandy or rocky or anywhere which is vast/uninhabited/untouched by man and has stunning amounts of nothing

What was your first great travel experience?
couchette in France aged 16 travelling with 3 Foreign Legion guys - that's a story to tell at some point

What has been your favourite journey?
balloon over Hatshepsut's Temple, Luxor - the kids persuaded me to do it and just loved it!! Would love to do the wildebbest migration by balloon

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Drakensburg Mountains,KwaZuluNatal - for the scenery and the atmosphere; Karnak - lifetime ambition fullfilled; Venice in January - hauntingly beautiful and the fun of the race of the Grand Canal; Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park - to get a glimpse of what America was like when the buffalo roamed (although the herd was tiny in comparison with what was once there); Villa dei Misteri, Pompeii - fantastic frescos in situ and a real insight into life before the eruption

Recommend a special place to stay
Ca del dose, Venice - small friendly hostel just 4 minutes from St Marks & a tipee at Wakpamni B&B, Nebraska

Which three items do you always pack?
Powermonkey (thanks gowander - really useful), camera and ear plugs

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Egypt - so far - as I'd wanted to go there since I was a kid and got a great thrill showing it to my father

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
India to stay with my student who is returning home and has promised to show me her country - and China because its a 'need to go place'

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
ice cream - glace, dondurma, gelatti - call it what you will but its all great!

Window or aisle?
window - ideally by my seat but will head to back of plane to look out too and any window from a train
