I moved to the USA with my parents for two years when I was 10 and saw much of the Rockies.

What has been your favourite journey?
The Karakoram Mountains of Pakistan - an incredibly harsh and remote environment, but simply stunning scenery.

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Svalbard, Norway. Caucasus Mountains, Georgia. Southern Alps, New Zealand. Himalayas, Nepal. Namib Desert, Namibia.

Recommend a special place to stay
Portage on the shores of the Queen Charlotte Sound, New Zealand.

Which three items do you always pack?
My trekking boots, my trusty old fleece and my camera.

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Armenia - which I got in the summer of 2008 as I evacuated from Georgia during the South Ossetia conflict!

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
Antarctica.

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
Long haul flights.

Window or aisle?
