The world according to littlesthobo

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
It's a difficult choice between Ocean and Mountain - growing up in Scotland, I was never far from mountains or the sea and I love both.

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Tasmania; Western Australia; Scotland (but particularly Argyll and the Highlands); Kyoto, Japan; Costa Rica

Recommend a special place to stay
Dalhousie Castle, near Edinburgh, is great for a treat. You can sleep in one of the themed rooms (like Robert the Bruce or Mary Queen of Scots) and have dinner in the dungeons. The Xara Palace in Mdina, Malta, is pretty special too.

Which three items do you always pack?
Tea tree oil, my 'Indiana' travel bag, a notebook

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Oman, because I got to see it before it goes the way of Dubai and the UAE.

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
Greenland - for the sea kayaking.

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
I spend far too much on travel books - both for places I am going to and places I'd like to go to - but for me it's all part of the build-up to the trip, and at least I'm never short of ideas for places to go.

Window or aisle?
Travelling on holidays - window, always. Travelling for work - aisle, I'm always in a hurry.
