SE Asia Trains and border crossings

My boyfriend and I are training from Surat Thani (Thailand) to Kuala Lumpur and then on to Singapore.

How to the border crossings work?

    Hi there,

I haven't done the Thailand to Malayasia border crossing by train but I've done the Malaysia/Singapore one a couple of times. Basically, you pull up to a station, all troop off with your bags and passports, go through one set of immigration, walk up to the next set of immigration desks and then back on the train. It's very easy and certainly didn't take long when I was there last.

I'm assuming you've checked out any visa situations as I don't know your nationalities. Normal British passports don't need any sort of visa prior to arrival in Malaysia or Singapore.

    Cheers
    Simon
