    Paris tips

    Hello everyone!

I'm heading to Paris on Monday for a three day super-budget trip and was wondering if anyone had any tips on places to eat/drink for cheap. I've done Paris a few times but was lucky enough to be not be on a tight budget.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I did a three night bugdet trip to Paris last year - for great quality, but budget friendly food, I would suggest the Latin Quartre. Its a labryinth of bistros, bars and takeaway's. When I went, there was a variety of bistros doing three course meals for 10 euros, and it was amazing. The area has a great atmosphere and it's a great way to pass the time just walking around and taking it all in, before picking somewhere to drink, eat and watch everyone go by.

    Enjoy your trip.

    Hi.
I spent a weekend in Paris 2 years ago. I went on a couple of free walking tours that were guided in English. When i say free, you are expected to give a tip at the end, but they were very good and i was happy to tip. So as not to breach any commercial rules i won't give their name but if you search for 'Discover Walks', you should find them.

    Bon Chance!

Head to Place Monge, one long lovely street and I seem to remember lots of variations on the quiche - savoury quiches to start, and suspiciously quichy looking tarts and tortes for dessert. They also have some mean and incredibly heavy crepes there. If in the Bastille, wander down Rue de Lappe too, a popular student haunt with deals aplenty. Bon courage et bon appetite!

    There's a Parisian classic, Chartier http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/www/visit/filsdesans.php
It notoriously has the grumpiest service in all of Paris - possibly the world!  But great trad French food, not too dear at all.  I fondly remember the steak tartare!

There's a delicious little bistro on Ile St Louis that is worth a visit: Les Fous de l'Ile33,rue des Deux-Ponts, 75004 Paris.  Everything about it was wonderful - the food, the staff, the wine...
