This exciting itinerary combines cultural activities and a six day trek; perfect for more adventurous types who want to experience authentic Bhutan. Visit ancient monasteries and temples, discover spectacular mountain landscapes, explore charming villages and observe rare birds and animals in a remote sanctuary on this fifteen day trip. You may even spot red panda, snow leopards and Himalayan black bears! We are delighted to be able to offer you a visit to the heart of the highland regions of Merak and Sakteng, situated at an altitude of more than 3,000m in the mountains of Eastern Bhutan. The Brokpas (highlanders) living here are semi-nomadic yak herders, who speak a unique dialect and wear distinctive clothing. Tourists have only just been granted permission to visit this area, which was only accessible to researchers until very recently. This tour can be tailored entirely to your needs.
