In the deep fiords of Southern Greenland, UNESCO has newly appointed the old farming landscape as a World Heritage Site. Norse Vikings from Iceland settled shortly before the year 1,000 and created farming in this remote area. After the Vikings left the area around 1450, it was on its own until farming started again in the beginning of 20th Century. On this trip we visit three of the most beautifull sheep farms and villages where Vikings as well as Greenlanders have subsisted off the land with hunting and farming. We also have a couple of days in Qaqortoq – the main town in Southern Greenland with 3,200 inhabitants. Extend the tour by two days to spend more time in Tasiusaq and Igaliku, to relax and get more in touch with life in the settlements.

This trip has no fixed departures but restrictions may apply - check operator website
