Day 1: Fly into Beirut

From our hotel we will begin our afternoon tour of this vibrant city including the Green Line, the National Museum displaying the famous Phoenician gilded bronze figurines buried near Byblos, Mohammad Al Amin Mosque, ancient churches and Roman Baths before experiencing the nightlife!

Day 2: Explore the Lebanon Mountain Trail

We drive out from the coastal city up into the mountains to Sidon for a walk along the Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT). We will have lunch in Jezzine before visiting both Niha Castle and Beit el Din Palace, sleeping in Auberge Kheribe, a beautiful old traditional Lebanese House.

Day 3: Wine tasting in the Beqaa Valley

In the morning we will take a short walk in Masar el Chouf before driving to the stunning Chateau Kefraya to visit it’s vineyard with wine tasting. We will spend the night in the beautiful nearby mountain town of Zahle admiring its architecture and sophisticated nightspots.

Day 4: Visit the ruins of Baalbek

We spend the morning in Anjar before visiting the incredible Roman ruins at Baalbek. In Greek and Roman times it was called Heliopolis, ‘The City of the Sun’. The complex includes two huge and very grand Roman ruins, the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter; the most significant outside of Italy.

Day 5: Discover the Qadisha Valley

We admire the church of the picturesque mountain town of Bcharre before taking a walk in arquably Lebanon’s most famous cedar forest, and heading down into the Qadisha Valley to visit St Ellijah Hermitage. We will sleep in Auberge Hadas el Jibeh which boats one of the best views in the entire country.

Day 6: Explore this beautiful valley region

We have another day to explore the Qadisha Valley at our leisure; visiting Our Lady Cannobine Monastery before lunch in Abu Joseph Restaurant and a short walk along this section of the LMT for a couple of hours before sleeping in St Antonio’s Monastery.

Day 7: Tripoli & Byblos

Heading back down to the coast our first stop is Tripoli where we will visit the Old Souk before driving up to the Church of Saydet el Nouriyi for stunning coastal views of the Mediterranean, ending our day in the picturesque port of Byblos – the oldest continuously inhabited town in the world.

Day 8: Jeita Grotto & dinner in Beirut

The Jeita Grotto is a system interconnected karstic limestone caves spanning nearly nine kilometres, housing the world’s largest known stalactite – one of the world’s great natural wonders. After exploring these together we will embark on our final group dinner in the city and a night on the town!
