Day 1 - Overnight flight to Buenos Aires
Depart on overnight flight to Buenos Aires.
Day 2 - Buenos Aires
On arrival transfer to your hotel staying for 3 nights. In the afternoon we have a tour of Buenos Aires, named the “Paris of South America” for its turn of the century French architecture. We visit La Boca, with its brightly coloured houses, the Cathedral, Recoleta area and the Presidential Palace, with its famous balcony where successive leaders have made appearances. Optional dinner and evening to experience a tango show.
Day 3 - Buenos Aires
Day at leisure to explore Buenos Aires or choose from a number of optional tours & excursions:
Days 4-6 Lake District
Flight to Bariloche, in Argentina’s Lake District, staying for three nights. This alpine town is surrounded by beautiful mountain countryside, with excellent hotels and country lodges. The scenery ranges from lush, snow-covered mountain peaks and beautiful lakes, to the dry Pampa in the lowlands. It is a hub for outdoor activities, horse riding and walking the numerous trails; a wonderful place for picnics on the shore of picturesque lakes. Gabriela, our local guide, has a detailed knowledge of the area.
Day 7 - Fly to Ushuaia
Flight to Ushuaia and transfer to your hotel for one night.
Day 8 - Ushuaia & Embarkation
Spend the morning at leisure in Ushuaia, the capital of Argentine Tierra del Fuego and the world's southernmost city. Embark the M/V Sea Spirit in the afternoon and set sail south through the mountain scenery of the Beagle Channel.

Day 9 - South Atlantic Ocean
Today we head northeast towards the Falkland Island, looking out for marine wildlife and exploring the various social areas and facilities of the Sea Spirit. Albatrosses are common here and the ship’s fins help with stability in the event of rough seas. Enjoy briefings and lectures as expert naturalist guides prepare you for your visits.
Days 10-11 - Falkland Islands
The Sea Spirit docks at the Falkland Islands, aiming to visit one of the outer islands. Expect to encounter large penguin colonies, albatrosses, fur and elephant seals and many more sea birds. On the way you may encounter whale and dolphins in the waters of the archipelago.
We will also visit the capital Stanley, with its interesting Falklands museum, cathedral, waterfront promenade, British pubs, whalebone arch and views out to shipwrecks.
Days 12-13 - At sea
The ship now heads east towards South Georgia, passing the remote seabird-covered Shag Rocks and the Antarctic Convergence - the biological boundary of the Southern Ocean - on the way. Enjoy briefings and lectures to prepare you for your visit to South Georgia.
Days 14-18 - South Georgia
Reach one of the most remote corners of the world that can be safely explored by humans. You will hope to encounter albatross, prions, petrels, and terns amongst what is thought to be around 100 million seabirds. Innumerable fur and elephant seals lounge on the beaches, whilst a huge variety and volume of penguins await in the breathtaking icescapes.
Days 19-20 - Sail towards Antarctica
You will now have ample time to digest and consider your amazing wildlife experiences and photos in the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. Enjoy the views from the panoramic observation deck as the landscapes become more spectacular still.
Days 21-24 - Antarctic Peninsula & South Shetland Islands
Immerse yourself in the icy wilderness of this remote and spectacular environment. Enjoy small zodiac boat excursions, get close to the region's abundant wildlife on land and sea and admire towering snow-covered mountains and magnificent icebergs of every shape and size. Large penguin colonies bring the area to life, foraging in the waters and congregating on land. There are also various research stations here, some even with a gift shop and post office.
Days 25-26 - Return via Drake Passage
Enjoy time to relax and reflect upon your time spent in this extraordinary region. Attend presentations and workshops and enjoy the on-board facilities of the ship as you return to Tierra del Fuego.
Day 27 - Disembark & fly to Buenos Aires
After breakfast disembark in Ushuaia and transfer to the airport for your fl ight to Buenos Aires, staying for two nights.
Day 28 - Buenos Aires
One free day to enjoy the artistic, bohemian district of Palermo with cafes, galleries and shops; or take the ferry across the river to the old colonial settlement of Colonia in Uruguay, or enjoy cafes and shopping.
Day 29-30 - Overnight return flight to UK
