Rio de Janeiro - Days 1-3

Day 1 - Flight to Rio de Janeiro

Departure on a daytime flight to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to your hotel for three nights. Our guide will take you on a walk to introduce you to the area surroundings your hotel so that you can get your bearings upon arrival in a big city like Rio de Janeiro. This short introduction to Rio (up to one hour) will help with your orientation.

Day 2 Included city tour of Rio

Enjoy a half-day tour of the city, including Rio’s famous statue of Christ the Redeemer, perched high on Corcovado Mountain with dramatic views of the sea, Guanabara Bay and the famed beaches. From here we visit the bohemian district of Santa Teresa, once home to the rich and famous it's now occupied by galleries, writers, musicians and artists. Our journey continues into the city centre for lunch at one of Rio's oldest coffee shops, after which you visit the Cathedral and the historical district to admire the strong colonial architecture and charming atmosphere.

Day 3 At leisure in Rio

Relax at your hotel or on the beach. Your tour guide will be able to offer you a wide range of optional tours and excursions, depending on your requirements.

Iguassu Falls - Days 4-5

Day 4 Fly to Iguassu

Fly to Iguassu and check into your hotel overlooking the Falls. Rest of the day at leisure. The magnificent Iguassu Falls cascade over a curve of the Iguassu river that meanders the border between Brazil and Argentina. It is a truly extraordinary and spectacular sight with mighty torrents of water flowing over an area of 2.5 kilometres. 

Day 5 Visit the Iguassu Falls

Enjoy a full day excursion with your expert local guide exploring the three trails on the Argentine side of the Falls plus the trail on the Brazilian side, with a wide panoramic view. We also take a walk down to the foot of the Devil's Throat waterfall offers spectacular panoramic views and the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife.

Amazon River Cruise - 4-nights - Days 6-9

Day 6 - Amazon River Cruise

Early morning flight to Manaus and transfer to the M/V Tucano for a four-night expedition cruise on a full board basis. Afternoon departure northbound on the Rio Negro River.


Day 7 - Amazon River Cruise

Today we explore the Anavilhanas Archipelago, with excursions into the rainforest during the day and caiman spotting at night.


Day 8 - Amazon River Cruise

Exploring the Rio Negro, taking canoe trips on the narrow, flooded creeks and streams in the company of local guides.


Day 9 - Amazon River Cruise

Sail towards Manaus, where we experience the ‘meeting of the waters’. We overnight on Manaus.

Salvador - Days 10-12

Day 10 - Fly to Salvador

Disembark after breakfast and fly to Salvador. Here, Catholicism and Candomble deities live side-by-side, and the art, architecture, exotic cuisine and unique rhythms of music and dance reflect the strong Portuguese and African influences. You will meet your guide who give you a short introduction to Salvador when you arrive.

Day 11 - Salvador city tour

Enjoy a guided tour of Salvador exploring the markets, churches and colourful Pelourinho district, a World Heritage Site, with cobbled streets, bordered by brightly painted houses and street cafes. We explore the upper and lower parts of the city, we visit the numerous churches, squares, fortifications and symbols of Salvador's rich diversity of faiths and cultures, as we immerse ourselves into the heart of Brazil's colonial roots from Portuguese and African influences.

Day 12 - At leisure in Salvador

Relax at your hotel and explore on your own, or take an optional excursion - perhaps visit the Old city of Cachoeira in the "Reconcavo Bahiano" or take a cruise of the Bay and Island of Itaparica.

Day 13 – Fly home

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home or extend your stay at your chosen beach resort.
