Day 1 - Overnight travel to Argentina
We depart from London Gatwick to Madrid for an overnight flight to Buenos Aires, staying for three nights.
Day 2 - Join Group in Buenos Aires
Arriving early in the morning at Buenos Aires, you will be met by your Group Tour Leader and Guide, as well as the other members of the group before being taken to our hotel. We conduct an introductory briefing and there is the opportunity to rest or accompany your Tour Leader on a morning walk. In the afternoon you have the flexibility of persuing your own interests or accompany your Tour Leader to the Recoleta Park, exploring this elegant neighborhood, and relax at a traditional cafe whilst absorbing the spirit of Argentinean life. Everyone usually meets for a relaxed welcome dinner to get to know each other. Each evening throughout the tour, before dinner, the Tour Leader will give a short meeting at the hotel to prepare for the following day's activities and schedule.
Day 3 - Guided City Tour of Buenos Aires
We begin in the neighborhood of La Boca, painted a mish-mash of vibrant primary colours, where artists sell their works and tango dancers entertain passersby. We continue towards the city centre's prominent obelisk, the Cathedral and the Presidential Palace or "Pink House"; an area famous for its glorious architecture of French styled buildings, cafes, elegantly dressed people and tree-lined avenues.
Day 4 - Day at Leisure in Buenos Aires
Today you have the flexibility to pursue your own interests, relax or accompany your Tour Leader to visit various places of interest around Buenos Aires, there is no set itinerary but decided by the Tour Leader. Private excursions include: A boat trip to the Tigre Delta or visiting Colonia in Uruguay.
Day 5 - Travel to Iguazu
We continue our journey by flying to Iguazu Falls, one of South America's most spectacular sights. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to relax or accompany your Tour Leader on a short walk.
Day 6 - Explore the Argentinean Falls
In the morning we explore together the Argentinean side of the Falls. This is a great opportunity to appreciate the myriad of waterfalls, surrounding tropical forest and diverse wildlife as well as venture to the Garganta del Diablo or "Devils Throat" for a view from above the Falls. In the afternoon you have the flexibility to relax, or continue exploring Iguazu on your own.
Day 7 - Explore the Brazilian Falls
In the morning we cross the border to discover the Brazilian side of the Falls which offers fantastic panoramic views of the river as vast torrent of water cascade over the falls. In the afternoon we fly to Rio de Janeiro and transfer to the hotel, close to Copacabana beach and the vibrant district of Ipanema.
Day 8 - City Tour of Rio de Janeiro
We begin our tour by visiting the famous Statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain where you can admire spectacular 360° views of the city, tropical forest, granite peaks and bay. From here we visit the bohemian district of Santa Teresa, once home to the rich and famous it's now occupied by galleries, writers, musicians and artists. Our journey continues into the city centre for lunch at one of Rio's oldest coffee shops, after which you visit the Cathedral and travel into the historical district to admire the strong colonial architecture and charming atmosphere.
Day 9 - Day at Leisure in Rio de Janeiro
Today you have the flexibility to pursue your own interests, relax or accompany your Tour Leader to visit various places of interest around Rio de Janeiro, there is no set itinerary but decided by the Tour Leader.
Day 10 - Day at Leisure in Rio de Janeiro
We have another day to explore Rio further, or accompany your Tour Leader to visit various places of interest around Rio de Janeiro, there is no set itinerary but decided by the Tour Leader.
Day 11 - Travel to Salvador da Bahia
Continuing our journey we fly to Salvador and transfer to our hotel for 3 nights. Salvador is the heart of Brazilian identity with roots in Porguguese colonial history, blending with African culture, music, Candomble, Capoeira and the Orixa deities. This European and African blend has produced an explosion of creativity in the arts, music, dance and literature. The old town centre, the Pelourinho, was restored and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site with restaurants, art galleries and music centres in colonial houses.
Day 12 - Guided City Tour of Salvador
We journey through the cobbled streets of Salvador, with splendid colonial architecture, which stand as a reminder of a bygone era when Salvador was at the height of its glory in the 18th century. We explore the upper and lower parts of the city, we visit the numerous churches, squares, fortifications and symbols of Salvador's rich diversity of faiths and cultures, as we immerse ourselves into the heart of Brazil's colonial roots from Portuguese and African influences.
Day 13 - Day at Leisure in Salvador
Today you have the flexibility to pursue your own interests, relax or accompany your Tour Leader, there is no set itinerary but decided by the Tour Leader. Private excursions include: Visit the Old city of Cachoeira in the "Reconcavo Bahiano" or a cruise of the Bay and Island of Itaparica.
Day 14 - Tour Ends in Salvador
Last day to explore Salvador, before our overnight flight home, arriving on Day 15. Or choose to extend your holiday to relax three nights on the beach of Praia do Forte.
