Santiago & Valparaiso - Days 1 - 4

Days 1-2 - Fly overnight to Santiago

Depart Monday evening on an overnight British Airways flight to Santiago, staying for three nights in the Chilean capital. You will be met on arrival at the airport and taken to your hotel, with the chance to get to know your guide and ask them some initial questions about the city. 

Day 3 - Tour through Santiago's past & present

The next day we will take a private guided tour of Santiago to learn about the city's past history and present story. You will explore the bustling modern heart of the commercial district and Main Avenue, as well as historical main-square, with its majestic cathedral, before visiting the location upon which the Spanish founded the city, on Santa Lucia hill.

Day 4 - Day trip to colourful Valparaiso

Today we take a tour to the Pacific Coast, visiting the charming city of Valparaiso. Walking tour of this historic city, including the colourful hillside neighbourhoods, art galleries, cafés and the home of poet Pablo Neruda.

Atacama Desert - Days 5 - 7

Day 5 - Transfer to San Pedro Atacama

Flight to Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, an oasis village fed by two rivers and surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. You will be staying at Alto Atacama, a modern desert architecture lodge, including all meals and daily excursions to explore this harsh and varied environment.

Day 6-7 - Salt Flats, geysers & rock formations of the Atacama

Guided excursions will include: visit to Toconao and the Atacama Salt Flat, the Tatio Geysers, walking in the Valley of the Moon, ending at sunset at the ruins of Pucará de Quitor and Chiu-Chiu.

Torres del Paine - Days 8 - 11

Day 8 - Return to Santiago

Fly south from Calama to Santiago, staying in the capital overnight.

Day 9 - Torres del Paine National Park

Our journey continues farther south, as we take a flight to Punta Arenas and transfer to Torres del Paine National Park where we stay for three nights at a comfortable lodge within the park for ease of access and the best walks and scenery.

Day 10-11 Torres del Paine National Park

Our days are spent walking in this awe-inspiring area, where dramatic granite massifs rise from the earth, surrounded by glaciers, lakes and gnarled Magellanic beech trees. The walks vary from short two hour strolls, to longer full day treks. Whichever you choose, the scenery will be unforgettable.

Patagonia Expedition Cruise - Days 12 - 17

Day 12 - Transfer to the Skorpios III

Transfer to Puerto Natales to board the Skorpios III cruise ship, for three nights on the Kaweskar Route to remote fjords and glaciers of the Southern Patagonia Ice Fields, with all meals included. Embark late afternoon and set sail through Angostura Kirke, Moria, Vicuna, Union, Colingwood and Sarmiento Channels. The captain will give a welcome cocktail and dinner. 

Day 13 - Amalia & El Brujo Glaciers & Calvo Fjord

Arrive at Amalia Glacier, sailing as close to the glacier as possible. Morning walk on the beach to a stunning viewpoint. Continue to El Brujo Glacier, where, weather permitting, you can disembark and get a closer view of the glacier on dry land. Afternoon sail to to Calvo Fjord, where we take an excursion on ‘Captain Constantino’ icebreaker, navigating through the ice. We visit the Captain Constantino and Alipio Glaciers.

Day 14 - Montanas Fjord & White Angostura

This morning we visit Montanas Fjord, where you can see four glaciers melting into the sea. At Alsina Glacier, we explore this small bay on the ship’s zodiacs. At Bernal Glacier, we take a walk in a native forest and cross a glacial water lagoon. Here, you can touch and feel the ice. Continue on Montanas Fjord, observing Herman and Zamudio Glaciers from the observation deck.  We arrive at White Angostura, where we explore in the ship’s zodiacs. Captain’s dinner and farewell party tonight.

Day 15-17 - Fly to Santiago & fly home

Disembark in Puerto Natales. Transfer to Punta Arenas airport and fl y to Santiago, staying one more night before flying home overnight on Day 16, arriving Day 17.
