Lima - Days 1 - 2

Day 1 - Arrival in Lima

Depart on the daytime, direct flight to Lima, arriving in the evening. You will be met at the airport by our representative who will take you to your hotel, staying for 2 nights. On arrival you will have an introduction to the local area which is an opportunity for our guide to provide advice, explain your programme, answer any questions you may have.


Day 2 - Lima City Tour

Tour of Lima, entirely tailored to your family interests. Suggested sights to visit include the Presidential Palace, Plaza San Martín and the Larco Herrera Museum, with a fabulous collection of ancient artefacts from all over Peru.

Amazon Lodge - Days 3 - 5

Days 3-5 - Amazon

Flight over the Andean mountains to the Amazon basin. On arrival you will be taken to the pier on the Tambopata river to board a motorised canoe for the journey to your Amazon Lodge staying for three nights in thached-roof wooden bungalows with netting and private facilities. You will have daily exciting excursions with an expert guide to discover the living rainforest and local village life.

Sacred Valley - Days 6 - 9

Day 6-9 - Sacred Valley

Fly to Cusco, high in the mountains and transfer to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas" staying for four nights in the heartland of the Inca Empire. Full day tour to Chinchero local market, Moray ruins, Maras pre-Inca salt pans, the fortress of Ollantaytambo, Pisac and sunset at the ruins overlooking  the valley. Opportunity for walks in the countryside, rafting and horse riding.

Machu Picchu - Day 10 - 11

Day 10 - Guided tour Machu Picchu 

Travel aboard the "Vistadome" train from the Sacred Valley to the Aguas Calientes village located at the foot of Machu Picchu. This is a spectacular journey through a dramatic and changing landscape with some fantastic views. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be met by your guide and travel via a winding road up the mountain before finally glimpsing the magical site of Machu Picchu. You will be given a guided tour of the site to learn about the history and culture of the Incas. Staying for 1 night in the valley bellow.


Day 11 - Explore Machu Picchu & Travel to Cusco

The morning is free to explore Machu Picchu. You may wish to climb Huayna Picchu, a steep climb but well worth it for the fantastic views of the valley and a different perspective of Machu Picchu. Alternatively, there is a gentle climb, back along the Inca Trail, to Intipunku the Gate of the Sun, and the first sight one has of the complex if walking the Inca Trail. In the afternoon you travel to Cusco for a three nights stay.


Cusco & Lima - Days 12 - 13

Day 12 - Guided tour of Cusco

Guided tour of Cusco based on your family's interests, including markets, cathedrals, the huge Inca fortressed of Sacsayhuaman and Kenko outside the city.


Day 13 - At Leisure in Cusco 

One and a half days at leisure in Cusco to explore the city, relax, to take an optional extra excursion, or simply to enjoy the surroundings and atmosphere of this magnificent city.

Return via Lima - Days 14 - 15

Days 14 - 15 - Departure via Lima

In the afternoon of day 14 you will fly to Lima for one night. Morning and afternoon at leisure in Lima, before catching the early evening flight home, arriving the following day. Or alternatively, extend your holiday to include Inca trail trekking or visit the Galapagos islands.
