Quito & Otavalo Market - Days 1 - 4

Day 1 - Traveling to Quito 

Departure flight to Quito, arriving in the same evening, where you will be met by our representative and taken to your hotel. This is also the opportunity  for our guide to provide you advice, explain your programme and answer any questions you may have.

 

Day 2 - City tour

Day tour of Quito, with all its art and architecture treasures. The colonial quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We stroll in the independence Plaza, visit the temple of La Compania de Jesus and its awesome gilded interior, the Monastery of San Fransico and the Inca Gold Museum. 

 

Day 3 - Tour to Otavalo Market

We take a trip to the Andean town of Otavalo to visit its magnificent market, where men and women with long plaited hair, dressed in their traditional clothes, sell all types of weavings, handicrafts and homegrown produce.

 

Day 4 - At Leisure

Next day free to further explore Quito, visit Cotopaxi, Mindo or Termas de Papallacta.

Amazon Cruise - Days 5-8

Days 5-8 -  Manatee Amazon Explorer Cruise

Flight to the Amazon (Coca) then by motorized canoe on the Rio Napo for one and a half hours to the Manatee Amazon Explorer, sailing along different ecosystems and the Natural Reserves Yasuní and Limoncocha. Daily morning and afternoon excursions on the rainforest to observe a Parrots clay lick, the flora and fauna with giant trees of the Amazon, like the kapok, which rises over the forest canopy to more than 80 metres high, with huge, protruding roots.

Machalilla & Ayampe - Days 9-14

Day 9 - Machalilla National Park

Return to Quito. On arrival, assistance and flight to Manta. Transfer to the Machalilla National Park staying at Mantaraya Lodge for 4 nights visiting Montecristi Village, famous for the worldwide known "Panama Hats" and the Salango Museum.

 

Day 10 - Isla de la Plata 

Full day visit to Isla de la Plata to walk the trails observing the abundant, tame wildlife including frigate birds and boobies. Time to swim and snorkel. 

 

Day 11 - Archeological Museum and Los Frailes Beach

Visit to the Archaeological Museum in Situ of Agua Blanca. After lunch we visit Los Frailes Beach, and possibly have a swim and snorkel.

 Day 12 - Free to explore

Day 13 - Ayampe River Rainforest

Visit to Ayampe River Rainforest. Lunch and departure to Guayaquil for 1 night.

Day 14 - Tour in Guayaquil and departure

Next day tour in Guayaquil and Historical Park including Centennial Park, City centre, the gothic Metropolitan Cathedral and the new Malecon waterfront featuring historical, cultural and entertainment areas. Transfer in the afternoon to the airport for your overnight flight home, arriving on Day 15.
