Our hotel is just a short walk away. Whilst on the island well walk part of the famous Galloping Goose trail part of the Trans Canada trail. This picturesque trail of lakes and woodland is named after the gawky and noisy rail cars that used to travel along it. For our final day on the island there is only one thing missing that Canada is famous for - whale watching! Continuing our route into the Rockies we head to Jasper, we break the journey with a stop in Kamloops in the Thomson Valley. A famous rail junction town, but we are not here for the trains we are here to discover the Alpine flowers and the excellent walking. From Kamloops we journey up beside the North Thompson River to Jasper National Park passing Mount Robson, at nearly 4000m the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. While in Jasper well walk into the Valley of the Five Lakes. Classic views include the Athabasca Glacier and The Whistlers by cable car for a summit walk.
