If you have been dreaming of finding your own piece of paradise, then the idyllic islands of the Indian Ocean offer all this and more. From relaxing on the stunning beaches of the Maldives to exploring ancient ruins in Sri Lanka and discovering national parks and underwater coral reefs on Mauritius; on land or at sea, halcyon days await. Picture-perfect beaches in the Seychelles and Maldives, the lush interior of Reunion Island and the opportunity to explore tropical forests and seek out the exclusive wildlife, including lemurs and chameleons of Madagascar. We’ll explore the culturally diverse islands on foot, with time out to relax on the sparkling white-sand beaches and in the crystal clear waters. Flights with Turkish Airlines from London Heathrow or Manchester via Istanbul. Flight upgrades and/or domestic add on flights available, please ask for a competitive quote. Both cruises begin with an overnight hotel stay in either Sri Lanka or Mauritius. Our unique shore walks and excursions include: Colombo, Sri Lanka: This spectacular city is packed with beautiful Buddhist and Hindu temples, mosques, museums and busy bazaars. Port Louis, Mauritius: In a city renowned for its mix of cultures, we spend a short time on a city tour with a local guide followed either by a tour of Casela National Park, or a visit to the famous Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens. Praslin Island, Seychelles: We visit the spectacular palm forest of the UNESCO listed Vallee de Mai, located in Praslin National Park on the south of the island, look for Coco de Mer nuts and hopefully spot rare Black Parrots. Victoria, Mah, Seychelles:€companied by a local guide we hike through the Morne Seychellois National Park to the summit of Morne Blanc at 667 metres, offering breathtaking views of Mah’s western coast. Mayotte, Comoros: We take a boat trip on the largest lagoon in the Indian Ocean, boasting over 250 different species of hard coral and explore Grand-Terre, featuring stunning volcanic landscapes, marked by deep ravines and soaring ancient peaks. Antsiranana, Madagascar: We discover the city with a local guide before heading south to one of the National Parks, hopefully to spot the Madagascar Fish Eagle one of the world’s rarest birds of prey. Port Reunion, Reunion Island: With a local guide we explore the diverse landscapes of this French colony, taking in the islands lush, sweeping landscapes€tive volcano, lush forests and mountainous interior. Maldives: A slender chain of coral islands south-west of Sri Lanka, we visit and explore two islands Uligamu and Male. Time will of course be spent in the crystal clear waters, allowing us to snorkel through the countless off-shore reefs.
