Without doubt a cruise is the best way to experience the other-worldly setting of Norways coast and fjords, which are a delight from spring to autumn. Receding snows are replaced by apple blossom, giving way to lush green hills and deep blue waters beneath the towering peaks. Since the inception of our Cruise Walk programme, Norway has consistently proven our most popular destination. SHORE WALKS AND EXCURSION HIGHLIGHTS: Bergen - We ascend Mount Flyen by funicular railway, where paths stretch into a landscape of woods, lakes and mountains. We have free time to explore the old warehouses and other parts of the city. Flm - We take the Flm railway to the mountainous settlement of Myrdal, and then walk steeply down a good path to Berekvam past countless waterfalls with rugged peaks all around. Olden - Our walk takes us towards either the Brennsdal or Briksdal Glaciers, tongues of Europes largest glacier, the Jostedal Glacier. Eidfjord - A tiny village at the far end of the world-famous Hardangerfjord. Our walk includes a local lake and Viking burial mounds. Stavanger - On Norways southwest coast, we explore the town and may walk amidst low-lying hills, exploring the beautiful houses of Eiganes and the Stock and Mos lakes. lesund - We take an easy walk on well-maintained paths around and along the top of the Nvoya Peninsula to a high caf/viewpoint. Hellesylt - New for 2020, on our full days ashore we walk up the remote Bygda valley to two lakes with peaks towering over 1000m above us. On half day visits we see some of the spectacular waterfalls. Molde - From the Varden Outlook 400m above Molde there is a panorama€ross 200 mountain peaks. I never want this day to end! is how one of our customers described the day. Scenic Cruising - One of the most amazing things about a cruise to the fjords is, believe it or not, cruising the fjords! The journey between ports is always stunning. Cruises to Hellesylt navigate the twists and turns of the sublime Geirangerfjord. Cruising to Eidfjord we pass the gentler shores of Hardangerfjord where blossom covers the shore in spring. Most cruises to Stavanger also cruise along Lysefjord. Here two amazing sites lie high above the fjord - the Pulpit Rock, a plateau at the top pf a 600m sheer rock face, and Kjeragbolten, an egg-shaped chunk of rock sandwiched impossibly between two rock faces. Olden lies towards the eastern end of Nordfjord and we cruise along the Sognefjord to reach Flm.
