Guided Walking Holidays - Exploring Indochina Set foot on the path to discovery and journey to the heart of three distant lands. Make your way through the timeless backstreets of ancient towns and cities, linger at the busy morning markets filled with exotic goods and explore the imposing temples and pagodas of another age. Our journey starts in the beautiful city of Bangkok. We visit the Grand Palace and take a boat ride along the canals of the rural western suburbs. We then fly to Chiang Rai and visit the Golden Triangle. Crossing into Laos, we spend two days cruising down the Mekong with an overnight stay at Pak Beng before reaching Luang Prabang. Whilst here well take a walking tour of the city with a guide and visit the National Museum. Outside of the city we have the chance to see bears and learn their stories at a rescue centre as well as driving out to the Kuangsi waterfall. Leaving the Mekong we travel south by coach to Phonsavan where we stop at the mystical Plain of Jars a landscape where hundreds of huge megalithic stone jars lie scattered. We continue to Vang Vieng where well have a visit to the local Mines Advisory Group. Then its on to the capital, French colonial style Vientiane. We fly south to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. On our first day well take local tuk tuk transport away from the tourist trail for an evening food safari with a guide. Our second day here will be spent sightseeing in the city and well also have an excursion to the sobering Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Museum. We travel by coach through a sea of rice fields to Siem Reapclose to Angkor Wat. This huge temple and tomb complex is undoubtedly one of the wonders of the world. We’ll explore the complex and on another day we take a boat trip to Kampong Kleang on the edge of Tonle Sap Lake. We fly back to Bangkok to savour one last evening of Indochina experiences.
