Guided Walking Holidays - Danish Waterways Sandy beaches and celebrated architects, memories of the Vikings and open air museums. Our voyage around the Danish coast takes us from old world windmills to the capital Copenhagen. Our unique shore walks and excursions include: Aabenraa: Our maiden call to this historic market town will include a walk to enjoy the city’s cosy atmosphere and 13th century architecture before a visit to the UNESCO listed town of Christiansfeld. Fredericia: Founded in 1650, the town has Europes best preserved ramparts. After a guided tour we make the short journey to Rands Fjord, an area of open countryside in a lakeland setting. Hundested: A city with quayside traditional Viking displays and the nearby Kronberg Castle, the setting for Shakespeares Hamlet. Copenhagen: Home to the Little Mermaid, the painted canal-side houses of Nyhavn, Tivoli Gardens and the self proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood of Christiania. Aalborg: In the north of Denmark, best known for the remarkable Lindholm Hje cemetery containing iron age and Viking graves. It is also home to the Utzon centre which celebrates the work of Danish architect Jrn Utzon, designer of the Sydney Opera House. Kiel Canal: We sail through the worlds busiest artificial waterway, running for about 60 miles/100km and linking the North Sea with the Baltic.
