Day 1 Begin your holiday in Brazil's most romantic and vibrant of cities - a place of mountains and sea, Samba and carnival. On arrival at Rio de Janeiro you will be met and transferred to the Ceasar Park Ipanema hotel overlooking beautiful Ipanema Beach with the stunning backdrop of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Grab one of Brazil's unique cocktails, the Caipirinha, and relax into the laid back Brazilian way.
Day 2 Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, after which you will be met at your hotel and start your private tour to one of the wonders of the world, the imposing Statue of Christ the Redeemer, which crowns the top of Corcovado Mountain. Take the zig zag journey on the train through the lush Tijuca rainforest and look out for monkeys and parrots along the way. After a hearty Brazilian style lunch, visit imposing Sugar Loaf Mountain and take the two stage cable car to the summit with plenty of time to admire the spectacular views.
Day 3 Brazil's beaches have been voted as some of the best in the world, so why not head down to Copacabana or the famous Ipanema beach where on Sunday there is a fantastic market. Visit the historic part of the city and enjoy lunch at Confeitaria Colombo, a 100 year old tea room / restaurant that has been kept in pristine condition. It's one of the most traditional restaurants in Rio and it is part of the city's cultural heritage.
Day 4 In the morning, fly to Salvador, where Brazil was born and her early history remains, both in colonial monuments and African folk culture. Arrival and transfer to the historic Pelourinho district and the Villa Bahia. This pretty 18th century townhouse is now a gorgeous boutique style hotel with bright, airy rooms. There is also a refreshing plunge pool on the roof with panoramic views of the city.
Day 5 Today you will take a morning historical tour of Salvador venturing from the dark history of the colonial era slave auction site and grandiose baroque Sao Francisco Church. The Centro Historico (Historical Centre) is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and features many of the most important colonial architecture in the Americas. This bohemiam part of the city is home to many antique and handicraft stores.
Day 6 Transfer to the Salvador airport and take a 35 minute flight to Kiaroa Resort. This resort was has been awarded the Brazil's Leading Boutique Hotel prize, at the World Travel Awards. You will be welcomed with a tropical drink and now is the time to sit back and relax and enjoy the rest of your romantic holiday in this secluded hideaway.
Day 7 Relax and enjoy your little piece of Brazilian paradise. This exclusive property features a spa, gourmet gastronomy and many activities - luxury, comfort and privacy are all keynotes here. Indulge in a spa treatment or take a walk along the beautiful deserted beaches stopping for a refreshing dip in the in the transparent waters.
Day 13 Depart your hideaway in the Marau Peninsula for the light aircraft transfer to Salvador. Connect with you flight returning to the UK with many special and wonderful memories.
