Begin your journey in the sophisticated capital city of Buenos Aires, home to a great café culture and the passionate tango. Indulge in the history and classic architecture that make the city unqiue. Journey south to the heart of Patagonia to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few 'growing' glaciers found anywhere on Earth. 

At the foot of the Andes mountains lies Mendoza, one of the world's most famous wine regions, with its Malbec wine widely recognised. Explore some of the famous wineries and sample some of the worlds finest wines. Finally, marvel at one of the world's most impressive natural wonders, Iguazu Falls. Lying on the border with Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, there are 275 different waterfalls spanning an area of 3km. A wonderful combination of destinations and luxury hotels make this a truly memorable Argentina holiday.

Itinerary

Day 1 Depart London for your overnight flight to Buenos Aires, via Sao Paulo.

Day 2 Arrival to Buenos Aires in the morning and transfer to the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau. Combining the stylish architecture from the original 1932 French Duhau Palace with modern design and comfort, this is a haven of luxury in the heart of Recoleta. You are ideally located for fantastic art galleries, upmarket boutiques and pavement cafes.

Day 3 Private city tour visiting the highlights of this cosmopolitan city with European influences. In the heart of downtown is the Plaza de Mayo where you can see the president's Government House, also known as the 'Pink House', Cabildo and the cathedral. Visit some of the most popular neighbourhoods including San Telmo famous for its Sunday market, La Boca and the colourful 'caminitos' and the upmarket area of Recoleta. One of the most famous attractions of Recolata is the cemetery where Eva Peron is buried.

Day 4 Free day to explore the city. In the evening you will be privately transferred to Esquina Carlos Gardel for a spectacular evening of tango. One of the city's most elegant shows, the venue is located on the former site of Chanta Cuatro, where Carlos Gardel once dined with friends. Your VIP seats have fantastic views of the performance and is complimented by an upgraded three course menu. Wines are included along with sparkling wine for the toast. Indulge in an evening of evocative tango and fine dining.

Day 5 Transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to El Calafate in the heart of Argentina's Patagonia. Your luxury lodge, Eolo, is situated within 3000 hectares of beautiful Patagonian steppe, commanding spectacular views in every direction. Included with your stay at this Relais & Chateaux property are all meals and a selection of activities such as trekking, mountain biking and birdwatching.

Day 6 Full day private tour exploring the impressive Perito Moreno glacier, one of the few in the world that is both moving and maintaining in size. The front of the glacier spans around 5km, with a height of 60m. A variety of viewpoints, including from Lago Argentino, allow you to appreciate the vivid blue hues of the ice floes. We can also offer mini-trekking on the glacier itself. Please ask for more details.

Day 7 Free day to relax at the lodge or enjoy one of the included activities. Spend time in the lounge with a good book from the library or take a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool. In the bar watch the night sky via telescope, whilst enjoying a glass of Malbec

Day 8 Fly from El Calafate, via Buenos Aires, to Mendoza, the heart of the Argentine wine region. Located at the foot of the Andes, Mendoza is an attractive, modern city surrounded by vineyards and bodegas. Cavas Wine Lodge is around 30 minutes south of the city and the ideal spot for privacy and seclusion. Each room has its own plunge pool and private terrace, overlooking the Andes.

Day 9 Free days to explore the wine region. The best way to visit is either by booking a guide and driver or hiring a bike. Many of the famous wineries are close by including Trapiche and Familia Zuccardi, as well as smaller ones such as the fabulous Tempus Alba. Usually you can visit 3 wineries in a day allowing plenty time for lunch. Cavas Wine Lodge also has its own wine cellar showcasing 250 different wines from the region.

Day 10

Day 11 Depart Mendoza for your flight via Buenos Aires to Iguazu. The Sheraton Iguazu is the only hotel located within the Argentine side of the national park. From your falls view room enjoy the spectacular vistas of the largest of the falls - the Devil's Throat. Cool off during the heat of the day at the hotel's swimming pool and immerse yourself in this tropical paradise.

Day 12 Two full days to explore the majestic Iguazu area where Brazil, Argentina & Paraguay meet. From the 'Hito-Tres Fronteras' viewpoint you can see where the Rio Iguazu and Alto Parana meet. Spend a half day exploring the Brazil side of the falls on a guided tour. From your hotel there is a walkway to the main paths and also the option to take the boat trip under the falls - you will get wet! For wildlife lovers, the Atlantic rainforest, is a haven for butterflies and other wildlife such as birds, brown capuchin monkeys and if you are lucky tapirs.

Day 13

Day 14 Transfer to the airport on the Brazilian side of the falls for your return flight to London, via Sao Paulo.
