Day 1 Depart the UK for your direct flight to Rio de Janeiro. Your base in this vibrant city is the Windsor Miramar with its superb location on Copacabana beach. The hotels lovely rooftop pools has great views of Copacabana beach and Corcovado, Christ the Redeemer statue. Explore the nearby restaurants which offer great sea views whilst sipping the famous Brazilian cocktail, the Caipirinha.
Day 2 Explore the marvellous city of Rio de Janeiro by open top jeep. Drive to the cooler climes of Tijuca rainforest and onto the world famous Christ the Redeemer statue. At 2,300ft above sea level, experience the truly amazing views across the city of Rio de Janeiro including Sugar Loaf Mountain and Guanabara bay. After a traditional Brazilian style, drive to Praia Vermelha (red beach) cable car station for the first of two cable cars which takes you to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. From here there are more breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro. Complete your action packed day at the Botanical gardens, created in 1817 to serve as a cultivation centre for exotic plants.
Day 3 Enjoy a free day in Rio de Janeiro; perhaps take a walk along Copacabana beach or visit the neighbouring Ipanema and Leblon beaches. Perhaps visit the historic Santa Teresa with its many colonial and 19th-century buildings set in pretty narrow, curving, tree-lined streets.
Day 4 Travel along the coast to the town of Buzios. The charming Pousada Abracadabra, overlooks beautiful Armacao Bay and features only 16 rooms, some with balconies. With its peaceful location, Pousada Abracadabra is the ideal spot to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of Rio de Janiero.
Day 5 Free days to relax at Pousada Abracadabra and explore this lovely former fishing village. Buzios was made famous in 1964 when Bridget Bardot was photographed sauntering barefoot along the beach and is now one of the most fashionable resorts in Brazil. Ossos Beach is the most famous and closet to the centre of town. Another popular option is schooner cruises which pass many of the beaches.
Day 9 Private transfer to Rio de Janeiro airport for your direct flight to the UK.
