Trek to see the mountain gorillas, swim with dolphins, walk with lions or, relax on sandy tropical beaches. Rough it up along back roads in remote areas around Lake Victoria and Namibia where we may have to bush camp and live off supplies on our overland truck. Add in a few adrenaline€tivities such as bungy jumping, white water rafting, gorge swings or quad biking along with stunning gameparks such as the Serengeti, Etosha, Addo and Ngorongoro Crater and some fantastic€tivities such as Whale watching and Shark Cave Diving will make this a trip to remember. Days 1 to 4 Kenya

Depart Nairobi - cross the Equator and drive down into The Great Rift Valley. 

Lake Naivasha & Elsamere - the home of Joy Adamson & Elsa the lion, of Born Free fame, as well as cream teas!

Visit either Crater Lake Game Sanctuary or Hells Gate National Park (hire mountain bikes or walk through - the only park in Kenya where this is permitted).

Lake Nakuru National Park - including game drives to spot lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, zebra, gazelle & flamingo.

Days 5 to 10 Uganda

Jinja - the source of the Nile, whitewater rafting, quad biking or visit a local education project.

Kampala -  take a city tour of Uganda’s Capital 

Lake Bunyonyi – a chance to see a school for orphans or a pygmy village

Mountain Gorilla trek - Trek to see these amazing creatures, the closest species related to man.

Days 11 to 13 Rwanda

Musanze-small friendly, Rwandan town

Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Days 14 to 19 Tanzania/Kenya

Southern shores of Lake Victoria-bustling lively towns of Mwanza or Musoma

Maasai Mara safari – 2 game drives in this famous national park

Nairobi

Day 20 Nairobi - Get up close and personal to some of nature’s graceful giants when we visit a Giraffe Centre.  There is also the option to visit the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

Days 21 to 28 Tanzania

Depart Nairobi and cross the Athi Plains

Arusha - our base for the next few days.

Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater Reserve - take an optional jeep safari into the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti to spot lion, cheetah  leopard, zebra, elephant, hippos, wildebeest, giraffe, and gazelle.

Maasai Village walk - an option back at our campsite in Arusha.

Marangu - Foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro - you have the opportunity to hike up to Base camp, or walk through the pleasant surroundings visiting waterfalls and rivers in the area.

Dar Es Salaam - bbq on the Indian Ocean coast.

Days 29 to 32 Zanzibar Island - The original and mystical ’spice’ island. Take a tour of Stone Town, learn about the various spices, then venture to the north of the island for a few days. Swim with dolphins, sunbathe on amazing white sandy beaches, indulge in various water sports including snorkelling and scuba diving.

Days 33 to 35 Mikumi National Park - spot from the roadside, giraffe, zebra, elephant and buffalo.

Malawi - the warm heart of Africa.

Days 36 to 41 Lake Malawi - stop at several campsites where you can swim & chill on the lake. Learn to horse ride, scuba dive or try your hand at windsurfing amongst other water sports. Wander the local crafts markets and village before indulging in a spit roast dinner if we are lucky!

Days 42 to 47 Zimbabwe

Eastern Highlands - Chimanimani National Park - an opportunity to hike through this vast mountain wilderness area bordering Mozambique or visit bridal veil falls, enjoy the surrounding scenery from this sleepy village.

A privately run game ranch, where you can go game viewing on horse back makes for a very different experience!

Great Zimbabwe Ruins - a Shona village, from where the name ’Zimbabwe’ is derived.

Days 48 to 53 Bulawayo - the second largest city in the country.

Matobo National Park - an optional safari with a difference! Allowing you to game walk to get up close and see the elusive Black Rhino.

Victoria Falls - view these spectacular falls from Zimbabwe or Zambia, and try your hand at grade 5 whitewater rafting, and kayaking trips. Something for all - Flight of Angels (microlite or helicopter), sunset cruises, gorge swing, abseil, bungy jump, jet boating and more! - Adrenaline Heaven.

Days 54 to 65 Botswana

Chobe National Park - river game cruise

Okavango Delta - 1 night mokoro canoe trip on the delta to spot elephant, crocodile, hippo, buffalo, zebra plus more.

Namibia

Etosha National Park - game drive by day & relax at floodlit water holes by night to spot rhino, elephant, giraffe, lion, leopard, buffalo amongst a horde of other wildlife.

Cheetah park - an up close and personal experience with these amazing cats.
