A trip that explores the iconic highlights of Morocco: feel the difference between the Arab north and Berber South. Visit the 4 majestic Imperial Cities in 1 week, including an amazing night in a Berber camp in the Desert. Highlights range from the dye pits and tanneries of Fes, the UNESCO listed Roman ruins of Volubilis with it’s beautiful mosaics to the stunning Todra Gorge and the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This trip provides a great overview of Morocco. This trip is run in conjunction with a local operator.This is a slightly longer version of our 8-day Morocco Highlights tour, which starts in Casablanca and finishes in Marrakech. Day 2 Casablanca (Breakfast and dinner included)
Free time to explore Casablanca
Optional visit to Hassan II Mosque - with world’s tallest minaret
Day 3 Rabat (Breakfast included)
Rabat - Guided tour of the city, including Oudaia Kasbah and Hassan Tower
After lunch visit to Roman settlement of Volubilis
Overnight in Fes
Day 4 Fes (Breakfast included)
Guided tour of Fes-dye-pits, tanneries, pottery and Berber pharmacy
Evening-optional traditional meal and entertainment, with traditional and belly dancing and magicians!
Day 5 Overnight Berber Camp (Breakfast and Dinner included)
Stunning drive to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert, and an opportunity to swim on the way (except in Winter months)
Transfer to camels for trek to our overnight Berber Desert Camp
Traditional Berber meal, music and night under the stars!
Day 6 Todra Gorge (Breakfast and Dinner included)
Leaving the desert, we travel on to Todra Gorge-known as Morocco’s Grand Canyon
Early lunch break at Berber Co-operative with opportunities to purchase authentic rugs, kilims and carpets
Afternoon-opportunity to explore the gorge or rock climb
Day 7 Ait Benhaddou (Breakfast and Dinner included)
Visit to Ouarzazate-opportunity to visit Film Studios, famous for Gladiator, The Last Temptation of Christ and The Living Daylights
Afternoon- guided tour of UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou and its Kasbah.
Day 8 Marrakech (Breakfast and Dinner)
Traverse the stunning High Atlas en route back to Marrakech
Optional guided tour of Marrakech, with some free time for further exploring or last-minute shopping
Evening-last group evening meal
