A unique expedition trekking the High Atlas Mountains with a Berber Family & their livestock as they make their bi-annual journey between summer and winter pastures. Please note the May departure involves moving the livestock up the mountain and the September departure involves bringing them back down. The May itinerary, apart from the first and last days, therefore runs in reverse. This trip is run in conjunction with a local operator. Day 1 Marrakech (1 meal included)

At 6pm meet your fellow travellers for the pre-departure meeting.

Day 2 Cascades D’Ouzoud (3 meals included)
Visit the magnificent Ouzoud waterfalls.
Arrive at the nomad’s camp in Tamda and meet the Berber family you will be travelling with for the next 7 days.
Overnight in Gorge Du Dades.
Days 3 to 8 Berber Migration (3 meals per day included). Please note the May departure involves taking the livestock up the mountains to summer pastures and the September departure involves taking them down the mountain to the sheltered Dades Valley. You will be walking for between, 5-12 miles per day (about 4-7 hours including breaks). The terrain is often along stony river beds. The highest altitude we will reach is about 3100m and the total ascent/descent is about 1500m.

Visit Ouarzazate, once a resting point for African traders on their way to Europe.
UNESCO World Heritage listed Ait Benhaddou. One of the best preserved Kasbahs in Morocco.
Day 10 Marrakech (1 meal included)
Experience an evening in DjemÂa-el-Fna, Marrakech’s vibrant main square, with its food stalls, snake charmers, musicians & story tellers.
Explore the medina with its winding streets and bustling souks
Try a traditional Hammam; a steam bath with exfoliating massage, an ideal way to soothe those muscles.
Day 11 Marrakech (1 meal included)
Tour ends after breakfast.
