Vietnam explored comprehensively in just 2 weeks, with the main sights and experiences in Northern, Central and Southern Vietnam all featuring, including overnight on a junk in Halong Bay; the natural beauty of the north; tranquil Hoi An; the bustle of both Hanoi and Saigon; and a relaxing beach break to end your trip. This is the ideal holiday for those looking to fit in a quick break from work or a first time visit to Vietnam.
Day 1 | Fly to Hanoi.
Day 2 | Arrive in Hanoi and be transferred to your hotel by our driver and guide. The remainder of the day is left free to recuperate after your flight and explore at your own pace.
Day 3 | Enjoy a day in Hanoi with a private guided city tour, where you can visit (amongst others) Ho Chi Minh's former home, the Temple of Literature, the Fine Arts Museum and end in the Old Quarter.
Day 4 | Head out to Ninh Binh, passing through rural Vietnamese countryside before reaching the first capital, Hoa Lu. Explore the ancient sites, take a private sampan boat through Trang An and cycle around the luminous paddy fields.
Day 5 | A full day at your leisure in Ninh Binh to explore at your own pace or add in additional sightseeing.
Day 6 | Transfer to Halong City, where you will board your traditional Vietnamese junk for an overnight cruise around Halong Bay. Your cruise will include a range of sightseeing such as cave visits, private beaches, kayaking, squid fishing and cooking demos.
Day 7 | Wake up to witness the sunrise over the bay and then continue the cruise, before docking at Haiphong and flying down to Central Vietnam. Transfer to your hotel in Hue to check in and enjoy an evening at leisure.
Day 8 | This morning enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Hue - visit the Imperial Citadel, enjoy a cyclo ride around the old city and visit the local markets. You can even add in a special cruise along the Perfume River. This afternoon continue by road to Hoi An, travelling over the famous Hai Van Pass. Arrive and enjoy a relaxed afternoon.
Day 9 | After a morning walking tour of the ancient town, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore Hoi An and the surrounding countryside. We recommend adding in a cooking class, fishing experience, afternoon snorkelling or visit to My Son by Jeep.
Day 10 | Fly from Danang south to Saigon. Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels en route from the airport in to town. It is possible to take an afternoon city tour of Saigon, perhaps using Vespas - visiting the War Remnants Museum, Cholon Market and much more.
Day 11 | Today you will enjoy a full day tour to the Mekong Delta - cycle around the narrow laneways like a local, cruise gently around local villages, taste delicious tropical fruits in the orchards and enjoy lunch Mekong style.
Day 12 | This morning continue by road to Phan Thiet for your beach stay or take a morning flight to Phu Quoc or Con Dao Island - we can discuss beach options and ensure we pick the best option for you.
Day 13 | Day at leisure relaxing on the beach.
Day 14 | Second full day at leisure - explore the local sights or make the most of the sandy beaches for your last full day in Vietnam.
Day 15 | Transfer back to Saigon this morning for your flight back to the UK.
