Day 1 Beijing
Arrive in Beijing at any time.
Day 2 Beijing
Enjoy a guided tour of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. After take a walk through the historic Beijing hutongs.
Day 3 Beijing/Gubeikou (1D)
Leave Beijing behind and transfer out to the Great Wall of China for two days of hiking. Tonight, enjoy a homestay in a village with a local family.
Day 4 Beijing (1B)
Continue to trek along the Great Wall. Return to Beijing to catch the overnight train to Luoyang.
Day 5 Song Shan
Continue to the sacred Mount Songshang. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Kung Fu.
Day 6 Song Shan
Spend the day exploring the holy mountain area of Song Shan and enjoy a hike in the surrounding countryside.
Day 7 Song Shan/Xi’an
Opt to visit to Longmen Grottoes. Return to Luoyang and travel to Xi’an by train.
Day 8 Xi’an
Explore China’s former capital and terminus of the Silk Road. Cycle the ancient city walls and discover the Muslim Quarter.
Day 9 Xi’an/Yangshuo
Fly to Guilin and transfer to Yangshuo.
Day 10 Yangshuo
Take an orientation walk around Yangshuo. Opt to check out a local cooking school, practice tai chi, or see a light and sound show.
Day 11 Yangshuo (1L)
Cycle over the flat(ish) landscape past rice paddies with local farmers and water buffalo. Marvel at the limestone karsts and hear the legends of how they came to be.
Day 12 Yangshuo/Longji
Enjoy village to village trekking along rice terraces.
Day 13 Longji
Continue trekking along rice terraces.
Day 14 Longji/Hong Kong
Depart the village and take a fast train to Hong Kong.
Day 15 Hong Kong
Depart at any time.
