On this incredible trip, you'll discover a different side to the fascinating country of China, that is away from the usual tourist trail in the more remote western provinces.
Beginning at the famous Uighur market town of Kashgar, you'll follow the old Silk Road, skirting the edge of the isolated Taklamakan Desert, visiting the stunning Heavenly Lake and arriving in the oasis of Turpan.
We will visit the ancient Buddha statues at the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang before going to the remote western end of the Great Wall of China at Lijiashan. From here, our route goes past the rainbow coloured mountains of Zhangye Danxia, before climbing up the Tibetan Plateau and the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Xiahe.
Finally, we visit the Buddha caves of Bingling Si and the Confucian Temples of Mount Kongtong before descending to the historic city of Xi'an, home of the world-famous Terracotta Warriors.
