A wonderful journey that explores the Nile all the way from Cairo through to Khartoum and then the Blue Nile up to its source at Lake Tana in Ethiopia. It then heads down to the source of the White Nile, the town of Jinja in Uganda, where this great river flows out of Lake Victoria.
Along the way we have the opportunity to discover the historic cultures of ancient Egypt at the numerous sites such as Luxor or Abu Simbel and those of the Kushite Kingdom in Sudan and of course the long and colourful history of Ethiopia’s Christian Kingdom.
We traverse the immensity of two great deserts, the Sahara and the Northern Kenyan and climb to the ‘Roof Of Africa’, to trek in the Simien Mountains, before travelling along the Rift Valley from Addis Ababa and down to Nairobi. We witness some of Africa’s finest wildlife and national parks in Kenya and Uganda, including Samburu, Nakuru, Masai Mara and the highlight of the whole journey, seeing the Gorillas and Chimpanzees in Uganda.
