Near the south coast of Sicily, the town of Agrigento is largely overshadowed by the nearby Valle dei Templi (Valley of the Temples), a series of Doric Temples strung out on a ridge facing the sea. Agrigento itself is an interesting town with medieval streets and historic sights including Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Greci, a Norman church built in the 11th century and the ethnographical museum.
