Combine a visit to Norway’s two major cities – Oslo and Bergen – with an acclaimed Norway in a Nutshell tour. This really is the best way to take in the sheer beauty of Norway's western fjords, combining picturesque fjord boat trips with cross-country jaunts by road and rail. You'll even enjoy a ride on the Flåm Railway – the world's steepest standard gauge line – which descends through the mountains to the shores of Aurlandsfjord, passing plunging ravines and cascading waterfalls along the way. If you have more time, stop at your choice of picturesque fjord-side villages and explore the landscape on foot or by bike.
Days 1-2: Oslo
Fly to Oslo. Norway’s easily navigable capital is home to a host of museums, shops and attractions. Stand face to face with Edvard Munch’s The Scream at the National Gallery, hang out among the statues at Vigeland Sculpture Park, dip into the past at the Viking Ship Museum, or give your tastebuds a treat at Aker Brygge’s renowned restaurants. You'll stay right at the heart of it all with our choice of hand-picked hotels.

Day 3: Norway in a Nutshell tour – Oslo to Bergen
Enjoy a breathtaking day trip along the Bergen and Flåm railways, passing ravines, waterfalls, dizzying mountain peaks and the picturesque Næroyfjord and Aurlandsfjord. Stalheimskleiva is a special highlight – an incredible stretch of hairpin bends running up a ridge between two cascading waterfalls. On arrival in Bergen, check in at either the harbour-front Clarion Collection Havnekontoret or the central Thon Hotel Orion. Both a perfectly placed for taking in the city's sights the following day. This evening, why not head out to enjoy your first taste of Bergen's renowned dining scene – there's everything from fresh seafood to feasts inspired by the city's Hanseatic history.

Day 4: Bergen
Enjoy a full day exploring Bergen, strolling the length of its UNESCO-listed quayside to discover the old fortress of Bergenhus and taking the chance to stop for lunch at the famous fish market. For glorious views over the town and surrounding landscapes, you can't miss a ride on the funicular to the summit of Mount Floyen. This evening, why not end your stay in style with a celebratory dinner in the city? The Bryggen Tracteursted is among of our favourites, for its mix of traditional food and fine local beers.
