Holiday overview

With the glorious kaleidoscope of season’s change coupled with milder weather, chasing the Northern Lights in autumn is a truly enticing proposition. And, this comprehensive itinerary will see you explore the beauty of Finnish Lapland, taking in the aurora with a night spent around a campfire and a choice of included activities. Perhaps explore on horseback, or let a Northern Lights expert drive you out in search of those ethereal reds and greens. There's even the chance to witness the aurora from the comfort of a sauna – how's that for bucket-list worthy? You’ll also enjoy hearty breakfasts and dinners throughout, along with transfers, a stay in charming, timber-clad accommodation and even the chance to offset your carbon footprint. It all ends with a night in an Aurora Dome – a luxury igloo tent.

Holiday itinerary

Day 1: UK to Harriniva

Flying into the wilds of Finnish Lapland you’ll be met at the airport and brought through old-growth forests to your cosy riverside accommodation, all blond-wood accents and Scandi chic. You’ll also enjoy the first of your included dinners, with fresh, local ingredients showcased across menus of regional delicacies, served by a roaring fire, of course. Then, as night falls, it’s time to begin your programme of aurora activities.

Day 2: Aurora Campfire

Today, after breakfast, you might want to explore your pretty surroundings, emboldened by autumn's burnished colours. Today we've included a visit to the resident huskies and reindeer alongside a picnic lunch, before you try your hand at fishing and the chance to plant a tree to offset your carbon footprint. After dinner, you'll then by brought out to a beautifully set campfire, where you'll be treated to an informative presentation on the Northern Lights by the resident expert. While making pancakes on the fire, you'll be in a perfect spot to catch the aurora's magical spectacle.

Day 3: Aurora Dome

With your last full day, you'll have the chance to explore further at your leisure further. You’ll also end your trip in style, checking into your Aurora Dome – a luxury igloo tent complete with open fire and panoramic views, hopefully of the aurora itself. We've also included a visit to the Aurora Sauna today. As the name suggests, the two-storey sauna has floor-to-ceiling glass windows that make for a truly magical vantage point for Northern Lights viewing, alongside wellness rooms with 360-degree domed glass ceilings. Then, after dinner, you’ll head out to chase them with a choice of included activities. For something truly evocative, saddle up for a horse-back ride under the aurora or consider taking a car for perhaps the best chance to spot the lights. Your aurora guide will drive you out to remote locations, carefully chosen based on the night’s weather.

Day 4: Depart for UK

After a last breakfast, an included transfer will see you to the airport for your flight home.
