It takes you into the wilderness of the Peruvian high Andes with great scenery, a perfect adventure for hikers.
The Huayhuash massif features a dozen sharp, ice-clad summits that rise dramtically from rolling grassland. You may also spot herds of alpaca, condors and the elusive vicuna on this adventure trekking trip.
Fully supported, the tour starts in Lima, then to Huaraz where you acclimatise on guided walks into the Cordillera Blanca. Then - the Huayhuash circuit.
Leaving civilization far behind, we soon have the first of many close-up views of huge fissured glaciers feeding opaque lakes. The 120km clockwise trekking circuit takes us over eight high passes (between 4,300 and 5,000 metres).
We are offered stunning views of towering ice-covered mountain walls. There are also opportunities for rewarding side-trips into remote, pristine glacial valleys. Back in Huaraz, we have a celebration dinner before our Lima return.
We also offer a shorter Peru Huayhuash trek only, and many other treks in the region.
