We avoid the crowded Marangu route on Kilimanjaro, preferring to approach the mountain from the north by the lightly-used Rongai route. The Rongai route starts just south of the Kenya-Tanzania border and experienced guides consider this ascent route to be both easier and more beautiful than the main Marangu trail. The Rongai route begins in attractive farmland and delightful forest, with the possibility of wildlife viewing, and passes through several different climate zones, adding considerably to the interest of the trek. We also add an extra day to the standard five day itinerary to ensure maximum acclimatization and the best chance of reaching the summit.
We have our own dedicated Kilimanjaro team, led by Samson Lauwo, the great grandson of the famous 'Mzee Lauwo' who led Hans Mayer, the first European to summit the mountain in 1889.
Having our own team means we can easily arrange a trek on any date you wish, and accommodate your trekking needs.
For our Kilimanjaro treks we can pick you up from either Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport. The treks include airport transfers, two nights bed and breakfast, all park fee's, camping equipment, 3 meals a day and the services of our expert guides, porters and cooks.
