Arrive in Calgary with time to explore and enjoy dinner at one of it's many cool places to eat. Ask our travel experts for recommendations on where to eat and to help with booking arrangements ahead of your arrival. Your next stop on this 8-day adventure is Banff and a beautiful drive down the 1A Highway is recommended to see the best of the scenery on route. You'll stay in the heart of downtown Banff so you'll have shopping, cafes, nightlife and museums on your doorstep. Spend the next day or so surrounded by picture-postcard scenery. We recommend visiting the Cave and Basin National Historic Site which is in complete contrast to downtown Banff. The stops along the way don't get any less spectacular, Jasper is your next destination and you'll arrive via the Icefields Parkway, an iconic part of the journey on any Rockies road-trip. Jasper is home to the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies and is an endless collection of mountains and glaciers. You'll explore the Columbia Icefield in the Ice Explorer, an all-terrain vehicle. The road from Jasper to Lake Louise is arguably one of the greatest drives to enjoy, dwarfed by towering snow-capped mountains, the tree-lined highway is 144 miles of photographic opportunities so is much more than just a means to a destination. Make sure you leave time to enjoy this part of the journey. Lake Louise is the final stop on your trip. On arrival you can spend time exploring the lake by kayak or canoe or enjoy the views€ross the lake from the many trails that wind their way around the Lake's shores.
