Arrive in Nairobi in the evening and transfer to your comfortable home for the night, Eka Hotel, then anticipate the many adventures planned. When morning comes, head straight for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a 36,000-hectare non-profit wildlife conservancy. You have two days here to enjoy game drives and guided walks on this beautiful landscape full of the world’s best-loved birds and beasts. Highlights here include the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Lion Tracking Program where you can lend a hand in the fight to keep these creatures safe while enjoying some unforgettable experiences. On day four, traverse Kenya’s scenic roadways to Samburu National Reserve. Here, you can see some more amazing animals as you explore this inviting wilderness. Learn also about the work of conservationists George and Joy Adamson who raised Elsa the lioness – the story behind Born Free, the best-selling book and award-winning film. You have 165 square kilometres of untouched landscape to venture through as you track down all of the Big Five. You can find the rare beisa oryx, thin-striped Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and 'giraffe-necked' gerenuk, among many others. Samburu is also home to over 400 species of bird which, if you choose to come outside of the prime safari season, become the dominant attraction. While you’re here, you can also discover the cultural practices of the Samburu tribe. After two nights in Samburu, fly to the world-famous Masai Mara National Park. Find your delightful safari home here at Kichwa Tembe Tented Camp. If you come in season, you can witness one of the greatest phenomena on the planet – the Great Migration of wildebeest. These herd animals have travelled hundreds of miles to feed on the ripening grasses here, and you can expect to see large numbers of hungry predators on their tail. Another unmissable discovery here is the local Maasai culture. These friendly tribespeople love to introduce outsiders into their ways and share their ancestral myths and stories with you. Visit a rural village for an eye-opening experience where you can learn a little about everyday life on the Mara. On day eight, take a morning game drive to view this thrilling landscape for a final time, hopefully ticking off the last species on your list. Then it’s time for your flight back to Nairobi where you have a dayroom at Eka Hotel and dinner booked at a top Nairobi restaurant before your overnight flight home. Details and departure dates of this trip can be tailor-made to meet your specific requirements.
