Yaya Onalaja-Aliu and Lloyd Griffiths’ travel blogging career wasn’t planned. When starting their blog Hand Luggage Only, Yaya was completing a Masters in mathematics at the University of Cambridge and Lloyd was doing a PhD in epidemiology at the University of St Andrews. Neither degree would have naturally led to a travel career yet the duo decided to start a blog journalling their passion – travel. Within weeks their articles started going viral, getting shared thousands of times by other travel enthusiasts, so their blog grew exponentially in just a few months. Eventually, Yaya and Lloyd decided to make their hobby their full-time job.
