Robert Twigger is an author and traveller. He has written eight books detailing various forms of adventurous travel. In 2010 he was the first person to traverse on foot the Libyan/Egyptian Great Sand Sea. In 2004 he crossed the Rocky Mountains in a birchbark canoe, a journey covered in his book Voyageur. His book Angry White Pyjamas is about studying martial arts in Japan and won the William Hill Sportsbook of the year award.
