Jim Manthorpe is a travel writer and wildlife film-maker. He has written four guidebooks for Trailblazer Publications including Scottish Highlands - The Hillwalking Guide and contributed to many others including Trekking in Ladakh and the Pennine Way. He has been a freelance travel writer for over ten years and has been a wildlife and landscape photographer for even longer. Much of his time is spent exploring the hills of Scotland; he lived in "Britain's Last Wilderness", Knoydart, for seven years where he worked as a countryside ranger and he is now training to be a wildlife cameraman.
