Jackie Scully

Jackie joined Wanderlust as Executive Director in January 2020.

A former editor, Jackie has created magazines and online content for everyone from Co-operative Travel and Preferred Hotels and Resorts to the Campaign to Protect Rural England.

In 2008, she edited the multi-award-winning book Icons of England – a celebrity anthology exploring Raymond Blanc’s love of apples and Bill Bryson’s fascination with piers. Bill Bryson later went on to republish the book in paperback and it even got a namecheck on the UK gameshow Pointless.

For Jackie, travel is as much about the search for her edges as it is the search for that standout view. Having got married at the London Marathon and trekked the Great Wall of China for her honeymoon, Jackie likes travel to come with an endurance challenge attached.

Having spent much of her childhood camping and hiking all over the UK, Jackie knows where to go for those turquoise waters and tranquil moments. But, she left her heart in Kyoto in 2017 and when she’s not at work or training for an endurance challenge, you’re now more likely to find her in a Japanese temple or floating somewhere in South-East Asia.
