Helen Moat

Helen Moat was born in Northern Ireland and spent her childhood travelling the length and breadth of the island in her Dad’s Morris Minor. She still suffers from wanderlust.

Helen is the author of Slow Travel: The Peak District (Bradt) and Time of Birds (Saraband), a book about her cycle across Europe to Istanbul. As a freelance travel, nature and landscape writer, she contributes regularly to publications such as Wanderlust and BBC Countryfile magazine. A keen walker and cyclist, she's an advocate for slow travel.
