Ben Box

Ben Box has been a freelance writer specialising in Latin American affairs since 1980. He has contributed to newspapers, magazines and learned tomes, usually on the subject of travel, but also on literature. Since 1989 he has been editor of the Footprint Travel Guides’ South American Handbook. He has also been involved in Footprint’s Handbooks on Central America & Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, Brazil, Peru, Cuzco & the Inca Heartland and Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. He is a graduate of the University of Southampton, UK, in Spanish, with Portuguese Studies, and has a PhD in the same subjects from the University of London. As well as English, he speaks Spanish, Portuguese and French.
