Opposites such as creation and destruction are closely linked with each other on our planet. In fact, volcanoes have eveen played a major role in the development of living organisms. That is why I do not percieve volcanic eruptions as a threat. I see them as a force of nature, an extreme spectacle of the elements. As giving and taking.

Adrian Rohnfelder — a German landscape, travel and adventure photographer — is the first photographer ever to climb the highest seven volcanoes on each of the seven continents.

The aim of Volcanic 7 Summits: Dreams of the Unknown was not the climb to reach each peak, but the photographic achievements taken from each summit.

The result is a book that portrays the beauty of mountains, power of volcanoes and the true versatility of our planet.
